# Changing Settings in Flight

Earlier experiments used fixed analyzer settings, leaving open whether the source and apparatus might share advance information. Aspect’s team developed a setup that changed settings after the photons had departed the source.

That innovation closed an important loophole while later generations closed others. The progression illustrates how experimental confidence accumulates through multiple designs, not through one apparatus declared perfect.
