Abhijit Banerjee is an Indian-American economist whose work spans development economics, political economy, organizations, and policy evaluation. MIT records his current faculty role and his co-founding and leadership of J-PAL. He shared the 2019 economics prize with Esther Duflo and Michael Kremer for an experimental approach to alleviating global poverty.
